Born in the Netherlands, Olivier moved to Australia in 2001 with his family. He trained in cardiology at the Alfred Hospital. In 2005 he completed a PhD at the Baker Medical Research Institute.

Olivier spent two years at Leiden University Medical Centre as an Overseas Fellow. He specialised in Non- invasive Imaging and Device Therapy.

Olivier has a passion for the management of Heart Failure. This is an often complex and challenging syndrome. It requires an intensive and multi-disciplinary approach.

He has a special interest in device therapy. This includes pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapies (biventricular pacemakers). His interest extends to imaging. Echocardiogram, stress echocardiogram, transoesophageal echocardiogram, multi-slice cardiac CT scan, diagnostic coronary angiography.

Olivier has an appointment at the Alfred Hospital. He performs pacemaker and defibrillator insertions and aftercare as well as stress and transoesophageal echocardiograms.
